Team Stats 2012-13 Junior Vikes Basketball
Hi Guys, I have the team stats compiled from the weekend and while we did some great things this weekend, there are two glaring stats that jump out specifically. Againste Todd we only got 23 rebounds that is alot of second chances for DP Todd from close proximity. If we are going to challenge them for the Zone Title we must commit to improving in this area. Now with that being said as a coach I have not incorperated enough drills emphasizing boxing out and rebounding. I except the responsiblity in this area for our down fall. With that being said We will be focussing on the following from now to the end of the season. 1. Defensive rebounding 2. Team defensive rotations and help side concepts. 3 Free throw shooting 49% is not good enough to close out games. And we must improve our perimeter shooting if we are going to spread the floor. I really felt aside from the 18 point gap that we played a solid game. I cant wait until we get all our team fireing in the same game. :)
I am 100% convinced if we tidy up these little things that we can compete for that title. Remember hardwork wins out when talent runs out!
